We at Bitrise are working on the leading Continuous Integration and Delivery platform for mobile developers. We're looking for someone who can apply that same vision and thoughtfulness to legal matters, with the purpose of increasing customer satisfaction and commitment to Bitrise.
Review and negotiate sales contracts with existing and prospective customers.
Develop long-term systems, processes and playbooks for sales contracts, partnering with the sales team, to accelerate the sales process while ensuring organization-wide consistency.
Provide strategy, guidance and deal execution for other third party agreements with resellers, in-bound technology partners and potential acquisitions.
Lead the effort in defining the Company’s intellectual property strategy including consideration of patents, trademarks, copyrights and licensing.
Coordinate with outside counsel as appropriate and cost-effectively through the use of preferred providers, technology, alternative fee arrangements, etc.
Manage corporate governance and employee equity plan issuances.
Provide legal expertise and advice on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits. Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing Bitrise.
Serve as a trusted advisor and business partner by providing expertise and guidance for the accomplishment of overall business objectives of Bitrise such as fostering a culture of innovation, while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations and avoiding unacceptable risks.
Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with Bitrise's business, its people, products, technology, markets, facilities, customers and competitors to identify trends and formulate strategies accordingly.
As a strategic partner to other groups within Bitrise you will be measured on strategic contributions, accelerating the sales team, scaling the legal function, cost reductions, and peer feedback.
A typical day in the life will include reviewing customer NDAs, defining and implementing an IP strategy, negotiating MSAs, responding to employee legal issues, managing trademark issues and managing policies and processe
Law degree from a top tier US or international law school.
Bar admission in your resident state or equivalent.
Minimum 5-7 years of substantial experience in the areas of intellectual property, commercial contracts and corporate law in the United States.
Willing to do the routine work at the beginning; longer-term, the desire and ability to build and lead a team to scale the legal department as we continue to grow.
Strong negotiation skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
Business acumen, including a well-developed understanding of business and commerce and the ability to diagnose and negotiate legal issues and present positive, creative solutions and alternatives.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including leadership, diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively and engender trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels throughout Bitrise.
Enthusiasm and "self-starter" qualities enabling you to manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency; the ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
Experience in an enterprise software startup or technology company with customers around the world preferred.
Experience with employment law and devtools businesses are plusses.
